[Bethany Lutheran Church] Help make the Pentecost story come alive!

Dear sisters and brothers of Bethany,

This Sunday is the day the church celebrates Pentecost, which is the coming of the Holy Spirit and the day we often call the "Birthday of the Church". You can  help to make this story come alive in a few ways.

First of all, remember to wear red so the church will be awash in fiery color!

Then, at the 9 am and 10:45 am worship services, we will begin with a dramatic reading of the Pentecost story. You are invited to participate by speaking in a language other than English.

When you hear this phrase:

4All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability.

...you are invited to LOUDLY pray the Lord’s Prayer in the language of your choice, from where you are standing in the pews! Continue on as long as the prayer lasts. We hope there will be many people praying in many tongues. If you don't know the Lord's Prayer, just pray or say whatever you like!

Thank you for your help in presenting the Pentecost story in a dramatic way! I look forward to seeing you this Sunday.

Peace,

Pastor Carre
